Dad and Me

Here are some photos that dad and I took a week ago, i.e., last Sunday. We went to the market after church and bought veggies and berries and other fruit and then went back to the guest house and made dinner.

Dad at Philemon House: Dad is staying at kind of a very small private hotel. It is behind a sturdy fence and heavy locked wooden gate, with a beautiful green little courtyard and garden inside, a main house with the kitchen and office, etc. and tiny brick paths to the guest rooms behind the main house. Dad is smiling below at the little outdoor eating area.

Dad and Me: This is the photo I snapped of us. The color is not great, but I think we both look as happy as we feel here. We were walking back from the market with all our bags of produce, and I got possessed by the desire to snap photos. Dad was a great sport.

Dad and Me Again: This is the photo that dad took of us. The color is better, and it's in great focus, but dad looks very grim as he concentrates on holding the camera.

Pop and Berries: Dad holds up the groceries in front of the little police stand on the corner of Sovietskya and Moskovskya. See the raspberries in the bag?

Photo with Photo: Here I'm posing with a photo sign. (The first character there makes the "f" sound.)

Yummm: Below are some of the berries we bought. Wow. I've never had better raspberries. People here joke that if you go to the U.S. and someone blindfolds you and feeds you fruit or vegetables, you wouldn't be able to tell what it is b/c there's no taste. :) Comparatively, it's true.

Dad, the Salad Wizard: Okay, so technically dad is chopping veggies that I sauteed for dinner, but he is the salad wizard.

Us at the Table: Here we are enjoying our dinner together.

Sunset: Dad spied the sunset out the kitchen window when we were chatting after dinner. Beautiful, huh?
